Bathrooms
Bathrooms, from a tub swap to a full remodel
Tub-to-shower swaps, vanity and tile updates, and bathrooms taken down to the studs.
Water is what ruins a bathroom, so the plan starts there: what the walls and floor are made of, where the drain sits, and how the room will dry out. We work with our own tile and carpentry crew and with licensed plumbing and electrical contractors. You choose tile, glass, vanity and fixtures at the showroom, where the samples can sit against each other in daylight.

Waterproofing checked and tested before tile goes up
Vanities, mirrors, lighting and a fan sized to the room

Cost
What changes the price of a bathroom
No figures here: your size, your house and your selections set them. This is what moves the number.
Wet areas
A shower needs more waterproofing and more tile than a tub surround. Benches, niches and a curbless entry add to both.
Tile size and pattern
Small tile and diagonal layouts mean more cuts and more days. Large panels need a flatter wall.
Moving plumbing
A drain that stays put is simpler. Moving a toilet or a shower drain can mean opening the floor below.
Glass
A fixed panel, a hinged door and a frameless enclosure differ in cost and in how they are measured.
The house
Older houses may have galvanized or lead supply lines and uneven floors. We note what we expect and how we deal with it.
Vanity and fixtures
A stock vanity ships quickly. A custom one or an imported fixture can set the schedule.
The process
How a bathroom goes
- 01
Step 1: Showroom visit and plan review
Bring your plan or a sketch of the room, and the year the house was built.
- 02
Step 2: Site measure
We check the walls, the floor, the drain and the vent, and we note what the room is built from.
- 03
Step 3: Written scope and estimate
The work listed step by step, with allowances for tile, glass and fixtures you haven't chosen.
- 04
Step 4: Selections and ordering
Tile, vanity and glass are ordered once the plan is signed. Glass waits until the tile is set.
- 05
Step 5: Demolition to walk-through
Demolition, plumbing and framing, then waterproofing, tile, fixtures and glass. A walk-through ends it.
Permits and rules
Changing plumbing, adding a circuit or moving a wall needs a permit from your city's building department. We apply for the building permit, and our plumbing and electrical contractors apply for theirs.
If your house was built before 1978, the EPA's rule on lead paint covers paid work that disturbs painted surfaces, and windows and demolition are always covered. Tell us the year at the visit.
Questions about bathrooms
Can you turn my tub into a shower?
Yes. It is one of the most common jobs. It depends on the drain position and the floor, so we check both at the site measure.
How long is the bathroom out of use?
A full remodel often takes a few weeks on site, and a tub swap fewer. Your estimate states the weeks. If it's your only bathroom, tell us at the visit and we will plan around it.
Do you test the waterproofing?
Yes. We check the shower pan and the walls before tile goes on, and we show you.
Can I choose the tile myself?
Yes. Bring a sample from home and we will set it beside ours.
Bring your bathroom plan to the table
Bring your plan to the showroom. The visit has no charge, and you leave with a written list of what the room needs.
